Texas is a great place for a rustic-chic wedding. The state is filled with working ranches and gorgeous homesteads that can provide an ideal backdrop for your country style wedding photos and memories.
While many brides select a ranch venue specifically because of its rural vibe, these spaces can be surprisingly accommodating to any style of wedding. If you’re looking for a stunning site for your True Texas wedding, here are 3 of our favorite ranch venues in the Lone Star State.
Near Dallas: The most iconic venue in the Lone Star State, Southfork Ranch was the exterior filming site for the long-running primetime TV series Dallas. The stately white “Ewing mansion” looks much the same as it did in the original series, as well as its 2012 revival, and includes memorabilia such as the JR Ewing’s breakfast table (located on the patio) and the famous family tree.
Not surprisingly, Southfork Ranch hosts more than 1,400 weddings and events each year, and can accommodate receptions of any size. While there are plenty of country style nuptials held in Texas, the venue’s Southern charm and elegance makes it appropriate for any wedding theme. Arrive in a horse-drawn carriage to your fairytale dream wedding in a grand ballroom, or have Southfork Ranch arrange a rustic reception complete with BBQ picnic, country music and horseback ride.
Near Houston: Located on a working cattle ranch in Crosby, TX, The Barn at Four Pines is prepped for a rustic wedding or cowboy themed event with up to 250 guests. They have several indoor and outdoor venue options, including a weathered barn with sliding doors and country tables.
Brides get prepped in a deluxe suite with two bathrooms, kitchen and flat-screen TVs. Meanwhile, grooms can chill with their boys in the Man Cave with its 80” Smart TV and pool table, or arrange a pre-ceremony golf game or zip-line adventure on the property. For a grand entrance, arrange a helicopter or prop plane arrival on the ranch’s grass landing strip.
Near Austin: Located about 15 minutes from downtown, Ranch Austin has a charming country landscape that includes a rusty windmill, outdoor fire pits and lots of green grass. Watch longhorns grazing in the fields as you exchange vows under a wooden archway, or dance under the stars between trees strung with festive lights.
The indoor banquet hall seats up to 200 guests, while the outdoor patio is ideal for larger groups. Chairs and tables are included, but you’ll need to arrange private vendors (or choose from a list of the ranch’s preferred local companies) for flowers, catering, alcohol and décor. While the stone fireplace and wood-beam ramadas lend themselves to rustic events, most of the grounds are neutral in style.
If you’re in Dallas, be sure to check out the history and amenities at Southfork Ranch.
